Valentine Surprise!

Cory, decided to plan our "Valentines Day Celebration" on Feb 11 instead of on the 14th due to him having to work at night and not being able to spend much time together. So, he told me to keep my night free from 6pm and on. (Jess came into town this weekend to do some work and school stuff and we both were really busy so we couldn't hang out much but it was good to see her the time that I did.) All day Cory was working on "secret things" to prepare for the night. So, I knew something was going down. He came to pick me up around 6 and first took me to dinner. Somewhere we had not been with one another, Outback Steakhouse. He had already called in which helped so we didn't have to wait long. Very smart on his part :-).  We shared our meal of course and just reminisced of good times and talked about our busy lives. He then took me to the temple and we walked around and took kissing pictures (one of Cory's favorite things to do. Don't ask me why?) After, Cory just started to drive to the middle of no where. He had planned this so well, because I had not ever know of this place he took me. He got his GPS out like he was trying to find a place he had been before or earlier that day. He gave me blankets to keep warm which was so nice. And he grabbed a shovel from the back of his truck and then he said, "follow me". So we walked in the brush and came to this area that was kind of down in a crevice. And there were camping chairs, logs, cardboard, a bag of goodies for hot chocolate, and s'mores. It was so cute! He set up our little camp and dug out a fire pit and made a little fire for us to warm water and so we can make s'mores and to stay warm.

He then got out his phone and played one of my favorite movies, The Dark Night, on his phone and we both had head phones to listen to it in front of the crackling fire. It was the sweetest thing. I felt so loved and appreciated. He wouldn't let me do much, which was hard for me but it was so nice of him to take all his free time to set this night up for us. Since we both had to wake up early that morning, I had sadly started to fall asleep as we were watching the movie. The night was still young and he still had plans. So we cleaned up the site and put out the fire and headed back to his house. Something I forgot to mention, which just shows how busy he is and how doing all this for me was amazing! He had to take a quiz for his IT class online before midnight and it was too late to hurry and pack everything up and get back to the house in time for him to take his test. So he took it out there in the middle of now where with barely any service and no book. He got 100%. (Not to mention it was only 5 questions, but still!) Anyway, so we got to the house and Sneaky Cory had grabbed one of my swim suits from my house earlier and planned that we go hot tubbing to finish the night out as we watched the movie on his phone. What a amazing night! He surprised me, which I usually can't be surprised. I don't even think I've ever done anything on a Valentines Day before with someone. Thanks Cory for making me feel special and overly loved. I love you!

The Vow

I have been looking forward to seeing this movie for a good amount of time. And when I showed Cory the review's of it, I told him that I wanted to see it that night. So, when it got closer I reminded him it was coming out soon, but we would have to wait to see it another day because he was working from 6-10 that night and the showings started before he got off work. He really wanted to take me and go the opening night. So he insisted we go and he would hurry over to the theater right when he got off work, which was 15 min's into the movie. He got the tickets earlier that day, luckily becasue it was sold out everywhere. I decided to go a little early. I got there 25 min's before it started and the line was already out the door. It was insane! But the movie ended up being really good. I loved it! I think I liked it a lot more than just the average girl because a lot of the cute little fun things that happened in the movie, I could relate to with Cory and I's relationship. It made me smile and remember a lot of the wonderful memories Cory and I have been able to experience together. I hope I will never forget them. Thanks, Cory for letting me take your night and coming with me. It meant a lot to me. :-)

Anniversary

Jan. 19, 2008 Park City Resort
Today was Cory and I's, 4 year anniversary. I know it sounds crazy! 4 years ago Cory decided to come up to Provo, while I was going to school, and hang out with me and my friends to go snowboarding. January 19, 2008 we decided to go snowboarding and it ended up just me and Cory going because all my friends flaked out. We got up to Park City Resort and it was sooo busy! It took us forever to get ready, and so we decided to go night boarding and save money. Cory was a sneaky guy and paid for me before I had the chance, which was very nice of him. So we sat around till it was time to board. And it was one of best night's of my life. He helped me and was so patient with me. It was cold yet, he tried to keep me warm. He even filmed me snowboarding to see how much I had progressed and as he was filming me he caught an edge and fell. It was great! Every since then, I've loved to laugh and have fun with him.
Night Boarding!
It was time to leave and we were having so much fun we forgot that we still needed to go shopping for church clothes. When Cory got up to Provo I decided to invite him to go to church with all my roommates. We were all planning on going to church and I didn't want him to have to feel left out as everyone was gone. So I invited him to go. I knew he had not been to church for a really long time, because when I talked to Ron about him ever wanting to go to church when he was dating Annalisa, Ron always said, he wont go to church for a girl, he is his own person and if he ever decided to go back it will be a miracle just from all the things he had gone though with his family. Anyway, I made the invite and I'm pretty sure some of my other roommates were in the room so they could help encourage him. I just gave him the option really, to just come to church with us if he wanted to, but it was up to him. He gave the excuse of not having any church clothes and he would feel really awkward going with out church clothes. So, I told him we could change that and I would help him shop for some if he wanted to. He actually agreed to go. I was really surprised. But our weekend ended up being really busy and as I said before we completely spaced getting him clothes. It was Saturday night and 8:50pm. Stores are closing and I had no idea where we could shop in Park City. The only stores I remember that were in Park City was the outlet stores Lisa worked at. I had no idea where they were located or where to drive to get to them. I knew they weren't in downtown Park City. Amazingly enough by the spirit guiding us, we found the stores and had 3 mins to spare. Right when we pulled up to the store, Cory's Dad called him and started talking to  him. I told Cory we have to hurry. The workes said they were closing in 3 min's. I told them we would be fast! I was so grateful for them for spending a little extra time with us so we could get these clothes or Cory would have never gone to church with us. He got him measured and I was given the job to pick out the tie for him. He dad kept talking to him as we were shopping and trying to convince him that he didnt need church clothes and all I could think of was Satan was working on him so hard to not come to church. I kept telling him to call his dad back after we got this all figured out. We got the clothes and went home. Wow! What a night that was. The best was yet to come. I had such a good feeling about him coming to church. I felt like I did everything I could. I just needed to leave the rest up to Heavenly Father. I prayed so hard that night that Cory would find what he was looking for and he would recognize the spirit again trying to teach him what he needed in life. We woke up and the house was full of 6 girls getting ready and Cory came over to get ready as well. It was amazing! He looked slick and we all went to church. I don't remember what  sacrament was about but, I do remember them being good speakers and the topics could pertain to Cory. I kept a prayer in my heart the whole day that he would have a soft heart and be open to new things. Sunday school we learned about Lehi's Vision of the Tree of Life and the iron rod and how we need to cling to it. I can't forget the overwhelming feeling I received as I was listening to the lesson and this peace came into me and my eyes watered as I knew that this is exactly what Cory needed at this time. After the class Cory asked where the Bishop's office was and that he wanted to talk to him. I was shocked!!! This wasn't even his ward and he didn't even know this bishop, yet he was willing to talk to him about coming back to church. It was amazing! A huge testimony experience about missionary work and the power of the spirit. No matter where we are in life and what were doing, the spirit will always be with us to help us a long the way. Just like it says in Doctrine and Covenants.

15 And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one asoul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!
16 And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the akingdom of my Father, how great will be your bjoy if you should bring many csouls unto me!
17 Behold, you have my gospel before you, and my rock, and my asalvation.
18 aAsk the Father in my bname, in faith believing that you shall receive, and you shall have the Holy Ghost, which manifesteth all things which are cexpedient unto the children of men.
19 And if you have not afaith, bhope, and ccharity, you can do nothing.

The feeling I felt that day was pure Joy. It was a miracle! He was my best friend. He was there for me through the hard of the hardest times of my college life. I had been going through serious relationships, lots of heart-ache, and big decisions. Cory, was the best listener. If I need someone to talk to and he was busy, he would drop everything to be able to text, IM, or call. He would always look at both sides of the situations I was faced with and gave me the best advice I needed at the moment. He knew what I needed to hear and he knew when I didn't need him to tell me what to do. I could trust him with everything. I never felt like I could be myself like I did around Cory. I will always feel indebted to him for all the time of effort he spent to help me in my life. It's been 4 years since that day we decided to go snowboarding together. Cory you are the best! I love you and Happy 4 year anniversary!

Dixie Chix Auditions

Now that I have committed myself a full year to be on Kalamity, we are recommended to also help out as being the Semi Pro Dixie Rebel Cheerleader/Dancers. So, I tried out and surprisingly enough I had enough enthusiasm and booty shaking to fake it as a cheerleader. It reminded me of my last year on Rebelettes. When we did the side line routines with the cheerleaders and short timeout routines at the basketball games. Only some of us Kalamity girls made it.We practice every Saturday morning at 5. Crazy! I know! But, it should be fun and all the girls are fun to be around and spend time with. Something to look forward to.

New Year's Eve

This new years was a very memorable yet busy day. Cory and I had just finished a week long trip at Mammoth Ski Resort. Which was so much fun! We wanted to make sure while we were down in CA that we went to the temple and since we didn't spend enough time with Cory's mom we invited her to come with us.
We went to the LA Temple and it was more beautiful than I remembered it. I went there shorty after I returned home from my mission and remembered it being huge and beautiful. This was Cory's first going to the LA Temple. I loved all the rooms, the stars, and Mary even took us on a little tour through the top of the temple. We went through the 2nd to the last session of the year and the temple was more quite and peaceful than I've ever heard it. Even the locker room was silent. I loved it! After we went a Mexican restaurant and drove back to Lancaster. We packed up and got on the road again to make it back home in time for Church on Sunday. We decided to take a break from driving and stop in Vegas to Celebrate the New Years. And yes... Vegas was crazy!! The people watching was amazing though. It took us half the night to actually find a spot to park and than once we did we were afraid that all our crap in the car would be stolen. The car was packed full of everything.
The whole strip was blocked off for people to walk up and down. We were going to try to find a cheaper dance club party but we decided to just walk around and celebrate on the strip. The time came and everyone counted down and the fireworks went off everywhere around us.
It's been awhile since I've actually gone and done something for New Year's, it was so good to be there with Cory and celebrate the coming of a new year together. The sad part of the night was we still had and hour and a half drive ahead of us. We were so tired by all the traveling and events we did, but it was all worth it.
Happy New Year! 2012
